I do love being able to simplify my life by making some of my crafts double duty! Fall and Thanksgiving are perfect for this! And I super LOVE this craft!
I haven’t really been an orange fan in the past, but lately, I really am loving it… (Maybe my hubby’s love of the Bronco’s is wearing me down.;))… Don’t you think it turned out super cute???? Best part you can do it to! WOOT WOOT!
If you want to do the wood yourself, and just buy the vinyl… I did the wood by using a 2×4, the sizes I used were a 3.5″, 4″ and 8″. The vinyl I did in beige, orange and dark brown. I also painted the blocks to match.
The colors I used were nutmeg, pumpkin orange and country tan. I love how they look perfect together! I did 2 layers of paint, if you let the paint dry between coats you end up using less paint.
Vinyl is so fun, and you use it very much like a sticker, But sometimes you have to add a little extra pressure, I just use my debit card, it works perfect and I generally know where I can find it.
I am a big ribbon, tulle, anything to embellish, I just LOVE it, I also love the tulle and raffia mix, I use a staple gun and glue to attach it to the side of the blocks. Do this to both sides, tie it at the top anyway you like, you can do it a couple different ways. I just tie a bow, like you are tying your shoe, then cut the loops of the bow in the middle… Then wah-la a fabulously fluffy top. and this is what you end up with:
Well one side, I did mine for fall and Thanksgiving! What do you think? Do you like crafts that serve double-duty?
Oh and of course enter to win a kit of your own, or a completed set! WOOT! And as more of my DIY Blogger gals add their take on this craft I will add more craft kits to the giveaway, so keep checking back. :))
